Roots pop Front Country has forged a sound hell bent on merging the musical past of bluegrass with the future. Melding traditional acoustic instruments with modern pop, their peculiar aesthetic produces songs that are intricate, intense and infectious. Their unique blend rises from a bassist equally versed in newgrass and jazz; a mandolinist with a degree in composition and classical guitar; a guitarist trained in rock and world music; a violinist that can seamlessly hop between honky tonk and electropop; and a multi-instrumental female lead singer-songwriter with grit and soul. It’s not a sound based on current trends, but an innovative perspective looking to find a new audience. Their progressive-leaning acoustic music won them first prize at both Rocky Grass and Telluride Bluegrass Festivals before being invited to tour legendary anchors such as Old Settlers and MerleFest.

General Admission Early Bird (until 3/29/19): $20. Please visit the event website for more information and to purchase tickets.

The Father of Newgrass and King of Telluride, legendary mandolin master Sam Bush has long established himself as bluegrass royalty. A lifetime of channeling his energy has led to stylistic innovations that have changed the course of bluegrass and roots music alike. The sheer ferocity of his playing and the brilliant suppleness, ease and warmth of his vocals have earned him a suite of honors including a “Lifetime Achievement” from the Americana Music Association; four International Bluegrass Music Association “Mandolin Player of the Year” awards, and three Grammy’s heralding talents from best album to best performance. His most recent album, Storyman, is a freewheeling collection that gleefully picks and chooses from jazz, folk, blues, reggae, country swing, and bluegrass to create a jubilant noise only classifiable as the Sam Bush sound. Revered for both his solo and sideman work, which includes time with the likes of Emmylou Harris, Lyle Lovett and Béla Fleck, Sam boasts a bevy of 30 recorded albums. This will be an evening full of light and joy, peace and frenzy, a rapt merging of life and music. Sam plays with his full band for this concert.

General Admission Early Bird (until 1/15/19): $60.
